If I buy an aftermarket security system, will I be able to use the factory key to activate the alarm? If not, is there any way I can program it to do so? I really enjoy carrying just the intelligent key with me, it impresses people when I dont pull anything out of my pocket to get in and start the car.

hmmm, i would hope that whatever you do to/for your car, you do it because it impresses YOU, not other people!

but to answer your question, I asked my alarm installer the same question, and he told me no, it couldn't be done!

Haha I guess you caught me. Jk I really like just carrying the original key and nothing else. I like the simplicity. Im not too confident in the factory system but I dont want too many frills, just a solid peace of mind. Thanks for the help.

I bought it used; someone bough it new, drove 6000 mi and turned it back in and took a pretty big loss I imagine. I got the carfax and everything the cars clean and i runs great. I bought it for 18250 out the door. they paid 24000 new.

Ah alright. I know a couple of girls that work at Earnhardt Nissan‎ in the sales department. My roommate grew up in Mesa so I know some people down there. I'm probably gonna be heading down there sometime in the future. We should meet up.

yeah man for sure. Ha my car is completely stock so its not much to look at at the moment but pretty soon theres gonna be a whole new audio system. I just worked out a deal with chronic car audio so were drawing up some ideas for it. Id love to see the drop though. Thats my next step.

Yeah for sure. I figured since the 2.5 is mostly bark and not bite I'd start with the audio first. I sacrificed the rear seats as nobody sits back there anyway, and two alpine type r's are taking the place. that way I keep my trunk for my police gear and I get great bass. It's a win for me.

Haha well there you go. If you get a ticket from one of our new photoradar cameras let me know. Theres some stuff stiff still up in the air on those. I actually beat a ticket from one a month and a half ago without ever mentioning I was in law enforcement.

It actually is, but you know everyones so skeptical of technology when it comes to the law, its not hard to beat it provided you can access the maintnence and calibration records. Heres the crazy part, in scottsdale theres talk of installing a system that works like the socal toll roads: it takes a pic of your license plate when you get on the freeway and when you exit. It applies the preset time, i.e. it should take you 5 minutes to get from point a to point b, and if you arrive at point b sooner than 5 minutes you get a ticket for speeding.

Yeah it's still way up in the air here its not even on the ballot yet, but the constitutional dilemma is there is no actual evidence of speeding or being caught in the act, only the outcome is proven.
