How does the G37 react when both the driver and passenger approach the car and both persons are carrying their own intelligent key for the car?

Does it get confused and go into an endless loop of setting the drivers seat/mirror to the different settings for each of the keys?

I've asked 2 infiniti dealers this question and they are clueless on the answer.

I think it's the other way around. Where the car has to make a decision based on the key, it will do nothing. An example would be the memorized position of the seat, steering wheel and mirrors. If both keys are present, you will have to use the button on the door to select the one you want. Other functions, such as starting, should work with one or two keys.

So, there is an additional button on the door that allows you to select the memorized seat/mirror/steering wheel setting?

If so and if I understand correctly, the following scenario should occur if two occupants approach the car and both have intelligent keys:

(1) The door will unlock when the handle is lifted.(2) If the driver needs for the seat/mirrors/steering wheel to move to the alternate settings, she will need to press a button on the door (?) to make this happen.(3) She should be able to still press the start button and drive off.

Right?

First when you set your seat adjustments you have to perform an additonal step to link that setting to an IK. If you only do the primary dirver then the problem is solved. I'm not sure how the G handles this but you can try hitting the open door button on the IK when approaching the car, it should take that persons settings there after. That's how it works on the Acura RL when two IK are near the car.

You're right with one correction. Simply pulling up the door handle won't unlock the car. There is a button on the door handle which you must push to unlock that door. (The other one will remain locked.) Then, pull up the handle to open the door.

The buttons for retrieving saved seat/mirror/steering position are on the trim strip on the driver's door ahead of and below the inside door handle.

Pages 3-2 to 3-14 owner's manual discuss the intelligent key system. Pages 3-29 and 3-20 tell how to save and retrieve seat/mirror/steering position. The complete G37 manual set can be downloaded from Infiniti's web site. Since they are in Adobe Acrobat (pdf) format, I have found them easier to use than the paper manuals. The latter live in the trunk, velcroed to the carpet.

Just from what I've noticed (haven't tried 2 keys, I'm the only driver) you have to be IN the drivers seat to even start the car. the car knows where the key is in reference to in the drivers seat vs left vs right side of the car. I had a passenger try to get in on the passenger side but it was locked, hitting the unlock didn't work. and my standing in the doorway (key in pocket) didn't allow my buddy to start the car on another time.

maybe it knows which key is in the drivers pocket?
