Hi everyone, am new here and i just bought a nissan tiida with keyless entry.i bought a set of 4 Tiida Door sills with LED illuminated. That is where the problem started.

I wanted it to be like...when any door is open, each individual sills is illuminated. He did dat but at the same time,my keyless system stopped working.I think the keyless system was bypass when he connected the 4 doors through the door switch.I can't start the engine with intelligent key.i can't lock and unlock the trunk by pressing the door handle request but for the driver and passenger's door, its working only when the remote is very close to the door.Infact only a partial keyless system is working. The Intelligent Key system warning light in the instrument panel illuminates red when i push the ignition switch even when i have the remote with me.i even change batteries but in vain.warning chime doesnt sound anymore when in lock position like before.By the way,the transmission is CVT

Am thinking of removing the sills but i have a question,is it possible to reprogram(reinstall) the keyless system and use it like before? There are sensors in the door which maybe is not recognising the keyless to make it start.

I gonna send it to the dealer for repair but before that, i could use some of your advice.I can't unlock the steering wheel also with intelligent key.

Please reply as soon as possible.Waiting for your replyThanks

You can have the keys "re-mated" but if it works some of the time, or even partially, your car is still mated to your keys. Sounds like the problem may be your wiring configuration. You know, even if they all light up when only 1 door is open, you won't see that they're illuminated because the door will be shut over them... just a thought.

Thank you very much for your reply.Infact it is a wiring configuration problemBut,what you mean by ''remated''.infact only a partial keyless system works.I can lock the front doors with the request switch but the trunk is inoperable.now the sills light when each door is open but intelligent key not working.Do i have to reprogram the intelligent key system?

"mating" like in the wild, is when you teach your car to love your fobs... rofl.

It's registering the keys to the car and vice-versa... If your car will still work sometimes with your keys, then they're still registered (or mated) so you do not need to re-register (or re-mate) them.

If they will work some of the time, or some of your request switches will work, then it sounds like you messed up something that interfered with the wiring, not something that disabled it.

Still thank you for your replyYeah in fact the trunk request switch not working and the 2 front request switch work only when i bring the remote very close to it,...something which was done very easily when the fob was in my pocket.when i connected the 4 doors, intelligent key stop working.now am using mechanical key to start the car.and theirs no chime-like sound when u in lock or ACC mode.which means intelligent key is not working.

But i wanna know is it possible to reprogram the keyless system or reset it and use it like before?

Infact, when i connected all door's switch to the sills,it kinda bypass the intelligent system.

I just want the keyless back even if i have to remove the sills and reinstall it without using the door switch.

What should I do?

Reply back ASAPTHANKS

Sorry, didn't understand what you were saying. Yes it can be done, but you can't do it... you'll need some dealership tools...

Not sure how much it'll cost.

Good luck!

they plug in a thingie (very technical) and then have to initialize the other thingy (sensor unit in car for the I-Key system) to recognize a signal sent by the other thingies (I-Keys).

Unless you have the dealer's plug-in computer thingie (the "very technical" thingie) you can't do it. It's not a simple disconnect the battery and let it re-start kinda operation. If you've genuinely wiped the keys from the memory, your soft keys (the fob that goes around the key) won't work with your car, but the hard keys (the part of actual key inside the fob) will still work.

For future reference, the soft key will work independently of the hard key. This does not relate to your answer, but I find it interesting.
