I’ve about had it with that #%$@ red button on the key fob. It has a propensity to activate while the fob is in my pocket. I think my neighbors hate my car and it’s horn honking at all hours of the day.

It goes off when I sit in the car about 1 out of 5 times. Not only that, it has opened the trunk on several occasions. I drive out of the driveway and see the warning “trunk open” message. I’m beginning to hate that fob.

I’m afraid to take it apart and try to disable the red button for fear of destroying the part that starts the car.

Has anyone found a way to deactivate the hair trigger on that red button?

Infiniti, (if you are listening), please change the red button, and the trunk button, to activate only after a rapid double click.

thanks.

That is not good. Take it to the dealer. They will fix it for you. I never had any issue with mine. Well it is not thru since I don't need a key to start a car or open the door I keep forgrting to take it with me. I'll go out and push the buttom and nothing. so I go back looking for my key. In the meantime my wife usually comes out with my key in her hand and a huge smile on her face.

Now I need a device on my keyfob to alarm me whenever I am more then 3 feet away from my key.

Yeah, I keep it in my pocket. All alone in my pocket. If I kept it anywhere else, I would lose it in a day. I understand they are in the neighborhood of $250.00 to replace should you lose one. Haven't verified that, and don't want to. So, my pocket is the only option.

Yesterday, after posting this, I got in my G, and the horn started honking, and as I drive off I see the trunk warning message too. It is really getting old.

Maybe, somehow, Infiniti will see this and implement the double click suggestion for activating the alarm and opening the trunk.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I never had any issues with my 07 loaner...try using the cover. Do you have a 2nd FOB?? Does that one do the same? (maybe the sensitivity is too high on the first one?)
