Just got a new 09 with 360 package and want to have some way of driving the car if I lose my 'key'. In past vehicles I have duct taped a key to the chassis. With the Murano, a spare mechanical key will get me inside but I still cannot start it . I thought of disabling an Intelligent Key module by removing the battery and hiding it under the spareAny other ideas on how to do this?Is there perhaps a secret way to enter a passcode in the radio that will enable starting?

Thanks

Bill

No. The car/ikey functions using RFID only.

What are you trying to accomplish by having a backup key always on the MO?

There really shouldn't be a reason to lose the key if it never has to leave your pocket. Do you mean a way to drive the vehicle if you lose the key at home or if it falls out of your pocket? I don't see how it would be possible to lose the key on the go.

I could lose it at a bar, on the beach etc and if i did what do I do?

I think I will hide the second Smarkey in the back after I remove the battery and tape its mechanical key to the frame with ducttape.
