just bought a 2008 sentra sl and can't get the trunk to open using the intelligent key. the door buttons work just fine. also, what do the numbers on the speed sensitive volume control mean...is the system more sensitive the higher the number or vice versa?

Is the trunk the only thing that does not work with the intelligent key?Where is the key when you try to open the trunk? The volume adjuster can be annoying but that you should be able to have that deactivated somehow, either by you or the dealership. The owner's manual should be able to tell you about the speed sensitive volume adjuster.

I don't know if it's exactly the same, but my 06 Altima has the SSV. I think it's great. There are 4 settings on mine: Low, medium, high and off.Basically how it works is this: The faster you go, the louder the stereo gets, and visa versa. The end result is a constant volume at any speed. That's the goal anyway. The low/medium/high just lets you set how much louder the sound gets as you speed up. Where you set it will depend on the road noise, whether you drive with the windows up or down, or whatever. It's up to you. If you turn it off, then you'll find that you'll be adjusting the volume all the time. I tend to leave it on medium, and I rarely have to adjust my volume. Sometimes with the sunroof open, I have to set it to maximum, but that's rare.Hope this helps.

I hope you're just kidding. If not, then you'll have some serious hearing problems in the not too distant future. The human ear is probably the only organ that cannot heal or regenerate itself. Once it is damaged, even a little bit, then the damage is permanent. The ringing is a message from your brain telling you that you are inflicting damage to your ears. You might want to pay attention to the message. I speak from experience. I'm now deaf in one ear from loud music and playing in a rock band. Trust me, it ain't fun.
