Intelli Key dashboard light flashing

I have a 2010 Nissan Rogue 360 edition. Whenever I take my key out a light flashes on the dashboard. It's an icon of a car with a key in the middle; I think it's the intelli key light. Is that normal? I read somewhere that it could be the batteries in the key but the battery is brand new.

To answer your question:

The icon you are describing is the security system indicator light.

You can find more information about the warning/indicator lights starting on pg 2-11 of your owners manual.

I highly recommend all new Nissan owners take time to read the manual. There's lots of important info in there and it will answer many of the most common questions.
