I recently traded my 08 altima coupe in for an 06 g35. the g35 only had one set of keys so i kept the spare to my altima. i go to the dealer and they say they cant reprogram it because nissan went to that type of key in 07 and mine wont work because its an 06 and its different. How can i get a nissan key programed to my car? i really dont want to pay $200+ on a key...and is there any way to take the nissan key casing and switch it with the infiniti to get the nissan/jdm type of key?

They run different frequecies, and they tie into the bcm-ecm, so since the bcm and ecm on the G is different than that of a altima (duh) they can't be swapped that way. Plus, why would you want a key that says nissan? you moved up! It sucks though, the key/remote on the V35 cost 3 times as much as the one on the V36 model. No Idea why.

well then, just swap out the circuit board in the remote and swap the shell.

yea i was looking at it and thinking that but i didnt know whether to just take a knife or screw driver n pop it open or is there an easier way i didnt see that wont mess it up??

You can do it. Switch all the interior into the newer style keyfob. I've seen some posts about this. Not sure if I seen it here at Nico or the other board. Maybe a little google would help you.

If can't find it let me know. I'll try to go after that.
