why would you have a higher intake(270) duration than exhaust(260)? what effect would this have on the engine performance?

Dude, I think you should really do some research on camshafting because your curiosity about camshafts and their performance will only get answered with biased responses as to someones particular application. You should learn the basics and then decide on which profile will suit your needs. But then again, you'll have to know your needs as well as your future needs so plan accordingly.
