Can anybody tell me what each of the tubes are that are running off of the intake? I have created a custom short intake for my S13 and was wondering if they all need to be connected. I know that one is a breather for the valve cover, and one goes to the AIV valve. But there are three other ones that I am wondering about. The only one I don't have connected is the big one from under next to the radiator, on the passenger side. Emissions count in my state. Any ideas?

I have a custom intake too. I moved the battery to the trunk and the filter and tube is where the batter used to be. I have all the hoses connected to the new tube. I know the big tubing is the AIV, the smaller one i have no idea.

ok you mean the 2 hoses formerly connected to the plastic intake tube right above the top radiator hose?

from looking @ FSM page EF & EC 7 (someone else w/ a scanner, please post the page to confirm?)

smaller hose that's forward to the bigger 1 is connected to a tee...the forward part of that T #6 goes to the AIV and the rearward one #9 goes to one of many metal vac tubes that goes underneath the fuel injector rail... cant seem to find out where it exits/connects to (may have to trace where it's connecting) possible guesses from the FSM: to the bpt valve#16, #2/3 swirl control solenoid valve, or to the back of the intake manifold collector #20 (w/ the ECCS letters)

the bigger hose connects to #19 another metal vaccuum line & exits at #14 & #13 AAC valve and air regulator valves.

Thanks Syntax, but I wrote half of that post! Anyway I still do not know what the large tube is (1 inch diameter) that is coming from below, next to the radiator and next to the original battery location. I have it disconnected now, and I'm wondering if it is worth cutting extra holes in my custom intake for it.

That is actually another resonator, I haven't had the time to trace it all the way and pull it out. But you do not need to bother cutting a hole in your intake. If you choose to remove the resonator unit you can.
