I unhooked my EGR so I don't need that stupid sensor anymore? I mean the car runs the same with or without it...InsanityInc wrote:I don't think the KA has an air temperature sensor. At least if it does, I can't find it. The temperature sensor in the intake manifold is the EGR temperature sensor, and just detects if the EGR system is functional. The MAF itself apparently has a built-in temperature compensation resistor.
Also, th effect of the intake air temperature sensor is pretty substantial, but faking it out like that wouldn't help your performance, it would make you run rich or lean all the time, unless it was exactly 55 degrees.
sorry its offtopic...can u just take off the egr valve thingy off the intake mani plug it and plug the hole in the header?Kenrik wrote:

untrue. the iat sensor is only used for onboard diagnostics. it in no way affects fuel trim.TEKs240sx wrote:The IAT sensor (Intake Air Tempurature) will adjust your air/fuel ratio. Screwing with this will cause the engine to run rich. Meaning, after a while black smoke out of the exhaust. Your car may seem to run fine. If you crack open your engine after a couple of weeks you will see the following:
Discolored piston ringsBurnt Spark Plugs
Anymore than a couple of weeks you risk the destruction of your internal rings which will ultimately lead to enhanced blow-by.
