are you sure its not connected to the valve cover? if so, you can take that off, plug the hole on the intake, and just buy a little APC filter for the valve cover.... useless though.

if thats not the one, its a vaccum line, take it off, and you will have a vaccum leak. just leave it.

thats the hose for the AIV system. take exhaust gases and pumps them back through the intake to burn off any extra fuel left over. its not necessary. mines vented to the atmosphere, via a breather filter. :)

It is suppose to take air from the box and put it in the intake to heat it up faster not put exhaust gas in the intake (that is the EGR) When the AIV is worn out THEN it allows exhaust gas into the intake... Which isn't very good... It is illegal to remove the AIV and/or the EGR but not many places would catch it.... And it is not neccessary.

oil from the AIV? i dont think thats happening. and if it is, youve got some major problems. you might want to do some more searching for oil. :)

the aiv is supposed to pull air from the air box and inject it with the the rest of the exaust to burn off extra fuel. They get gunked up though and then some times the spit out exaust fumes into your intake. If you want to test it just pull of the tube start your car and hold your finger over the tube. You can rev up the motor a bit and it will pull a bit more noticably.

The oil catch can is for the valve cover breather though. That is where you are probably getting oil into your intake from.... That is its job. But you can get a catch can that collects it and keeps it from going through the intake. And thekage is right about the price and even GREDDY has one for that price!

If the air injection hose is blowing at idle instead of sucking then you got a bad reed valve in the aiv unit. They're about 4 bucks from the nissan dealer. Your car won't smog without it physically, or working properly either. The aiv valve uses negative pressure in the exhaust to suck air from the intake into the exhaust to feed to the cat. That's the real deal how it works and why it's there. Won't hurt a thing to have it connected only makes your car run cleaner.
