Take a look at the design. Take a good, close look at the two identical metal pipes. You tell us which one looks like it would give you an extra 0.25HP...

Don't take it as an insult, it is always a joke because there are at least 3 million threads about this topic, and probably the same amount for HID threads.

Nothing personal, but the search function will yeild you many results on this topic.

In a nutshell, all of the intakes available for our cars are the pretty much the same in HP gain. It just matters what you find more visually appealing in the end.

Hope that helps more. Sorry if you took offense to the joke./

Does being a girl preclude you from having particular kinds of knowledge? If you think so, then you're doing your gender a great disservice. Also, if you're going to have a user name like "junie_boy" you can't very well get pissy when people don't know you're rockin' a vagoo...

These "which intake is best?" threads keep popping up far more often than is necessary. In almost all of them, I've restated what I think is pretty obvious...the intake designs are virtually identical. The simple solution in this case is to choose the one you can get at the best price. The only potential benefit I can see to having the more expensive K&N with the supposed heat shield would be if you're rocking a vented hood...

Apologies if this is brash, but Bmore-coupe has a point...a simple search would have garnered all the information you need.

I guess it's time for a new account...

as for intakes...go with injen, since you live in CA, it's still C.A.R.B. pending, but maybe, just one day, it'll be CARB approved...you could go with the other options, AEM or K&N but they cost a little more. As for fujita, I don't think they ever submit for CARB approval. This is all for the sake of getting pulled over and perhaps an officer wants you to pop the hood to check for "illegal" modifications. CA has one of the more strict emissions laws around. Power wise, they all pretty much produce the same amount of HP gain, whereas sound, I think they'd probably all sound the same. I personally went with Injen and have no regrets.

How did I verbally assault anyone? And what the hell does it matter if it was a girl or not? I gave a sarcastic response to a question that's asked far too often around here. It's even more ridiculous that the person in question has been a member here for nearly two years.

Her response of...

...bothers me to no end. I hate it when a woman uses the excuse of "oh, well, I'm a girl" to absolve themselves of the responsibility of knowledge. Granted, this remark may have been made in passing, but the fact is it's still used far too often in daily communication. Two years ago junie_boy took the initiative to search for a site of collective Nissan knowledge, signed up for an account (or rather, had her brother do it), and has obviously been at least mildly active on here (51 posts and counting). I don't think it's much of a stretch of the imagination to assume she could commit to using the search button. To use the excuse "I'm just a girl so I don't know much" is a sad, sad cop-out. If you can't see that then you're blind.

Now then...if it was her brother who created the account without her knowing, and has been him posting the last couple of years, then I would understand her not being familiar with the site's content. It still doesn't excuse the aforementioned comment, nor does it excuse the lack of searching for your own damn information.

Either way, I answered the question to the best of my abilities, along with an apology of perhaps being too brash. The rest of you telling me to "chill" can knock off your interweb white knight act.

... just because shes a girl... doesn't mean we can't tease her about the search button

My best advice is look at the following

-Price

-Quality (what looks more appealing to you)

intakes don't give THAT much more performance gain.. but makes a sounds difference..
