I was thinking about doing my own ram air intake to go with my current CAI setup. Let me first explain my CAI setup I used all the oem original intake tube and etc. I used an Aluminum adapter to my MAF and a 3" cone K&N Filter and I dremmeled out the top of my air intake box to act as it's own heat shield which actually worked out really well and was able to retain that extra vacuum line which goes into the box. Now I know people of already pulled out the resonator and ran tubing up from the spot in the front bumper cover to the hole where the air intake box is but I'm not keen on that idea cause of moving the ITA sensor and the chance of water coming up the hose so do you think it would be a bad idea to mount a hose from the spot btwn the radiator and the headlight then running that hose directly to my mod air box kind of a straight shot so to speak so I would just have to dremmel a hole in the box to fit that hole? Would I pick up additional heat from the radiator if I do this?

I took out the resonator and did a ram air there behind the bumper. i was also worried about water coming up but ive had it for about 3 months and there have been no problems except maybe the filter gets dirty faster. I feel like if you did a "straight shot" the risk of gettin water in it would be higher because it just goes straight in if its raining.

No water here and it has been almost I year I believe. However, sensor has a failure/check engine lite. Notice No Difference in drivability with the error code, but I will need to replace it to pass next emission test. I have not found a decent way to mount the sensor.

Thanks everyone for the responses but unfortunately the 2002 Nissan Pathfinder got hit by someone a week ago so I'm deciding whether I want to fix it or total it now.

On your 2004 Pathfinder, the IAT is integrated into the MAF sensor.
