i'm gonna keep this short and sweet. i just bought the injen intake for my 89 SE and i was wondering if the extra $120 for the cold air extension was worth it or not. i've heard that there is a strong possibility that water could get in there but that it was only if the intake was mounted too low. any opinions on the extension would be appreciated.

You will have minimal gains that are no where near worth $120. I had bought one when I first got mine and removed a few months later because the filter would get wet when I washed my car which caused my MAF to screw up until it dryed back out again. The only way you will have to worry about sucking up water though the extension would be driving thru water that would totally submerge your whole front bumper!

Will you feel the difference? Only on your wallet.

Hahahaha yeah mine does that too, the screw holes lined up poorly? And $120 for an extension isn't a good idea, hell the intake itself probally isn't a good idea cosidering how easy it is to make your own, too bad I bought one before I knew that.

I forgot to tell you how to fix the problem..... Just take a hammer to the hood and make an indentation for the intake to fit into....... im sure theres a "proper" way to do it but like captain halfa**ed.
