Intake question

I was just wondering if it is worth getting an intake system for my 240 ('89 coupe). I am replacing the cat, muff and taking out the resonator that comes stock, and thought I would just get an intake as well if it is worth it. The stock intake doesn't seem to be that bad as it gets it's air from outside the engine compartment...so would an AEM (for instance-probrably the one I'd buy) be more efficient than the stock system.

Also, if it is practical, what are some other decent brands for intakes?

Hello.I know this is an old topic, but I just had a question regarding the intake system....

I got a highflo cone nismo filter and adapter, however there was no place to plug the hose and the sensor into it that are currently on the stock airbox.

Do you know what hose and sensor I mean, because I can take some pics if it's not clear.

I guess my question is what exactly is that hose and the sensor for? I would like to put in the filter but I didn't want to do anything that would screw up the car somehow. I was thinking I'd reroute the hose and just cut out the sensor or if I can't do that, place it somewhere else on the intake...

Well, I kinda answered my own question...I renamed my search and found what I was looking for (previous search didn't find anything usefull).

Those are the parts I was talking about. I will do something similar to that guy...I'm just not sure on the breather filter. I'm going to go talk to my guy at the auto parts store and see if I can get one. that will work for that...
