I am about to go get a injen intake for the 2.5s and I was wondering... on the stillen site it says that it is a Cold Air Intake but people on the forums have been saying that it is the short ram or the WAI? is the INJSP1974 the right one for the 2.5s? Also... My friends have been telling me that intakes make the car way too loud that listening to music at times can be a burden.. is that true for the injen? oh. and lastly... in your opinion.. is it worth the 240-250$? thanks..

I haven't added an intake to my 2.5 yet, but there have been some positive feedback left by those who have. From what I gather, the sound really kicks in at 3k+ rpm. Type in Altima Coupe on youtube. there's a couple videos on there of intakes on 2.5 coupes.

Yes, you need the SP1974. It only fits the CVT version just to let you know. Its a short ram, NOT a cold air.

Is it worth the money?.. I think soIs it an CAI?.... nope, its a short ram WAI (Warm air intake)Will it make your car louder?..... it will but only after 3000rpms and will quiet down after you break it in and its not louder than your radio.Benifits are: Slight increase in MPG and HP.. very slight though but you will notice better throttle response on higher RPMS.. It sounds beautiful on the freeway when you punch it to pass other cars.. Nice deep tone and not that high pitched Honda civic rice sound (after its been broken in of course)

Why do you want an intake in the first place? It's only worth the $250 or so if you want the extra sound and the moderate HP boost. I want every ounce of power out of my car, so 250 bucks is well worth it. All depends on what you want out of you car.

Hey,

I'm new here and I know this thread is kinda old but I was looking at the "Injen Short Ram Intake 2007+ Sedan & Coupe 2.5 - Auto Trans ONLY" from the parts list and it appears to be a cold air intake, not a WAI or a short ram for that matter. Has this part changed since this thread was originally posted?

I found the CAI on http://www.autoaccessoriesgara...vlink=

Just wondering if anyone can clarify...

Thanks!

Intakes are only really loud at WOT. If you drive moderately you'll only hear a slight growl at 3k+...
