ok first you should know that i am cheap and always on the look for a quick fix. My first mistake was buying an off- brand intake off of ebay. The intake did help alot but the prick who sold it too me did not include the MAS or MAF adapter to connect to the filter. Does anyone know where i can get one or is there any other way to make it work. Also i think it is the aiv or the aai that has a hose running directily into the old black filter box, and is not connected to anything now, will this be a problem? Also there is a hose near the radiator right where the intake curves to go into the throttle body, and i dont have an outlet for that one either. Will this also be a problem? And now that ive installed my intake, ive discoved an oil leak and a very loud whizzing noise coming from under the hood. If anyone can help me I would Greatly appreciate it!!

Sorry, I don't know about the MAF adapter, Im sure you can find one somewhere. Start searching around the sponsors.

The hose that came out of the old filter box does go to the AIV. You can either just plug that hose, or take the whole AIV off and plug all the rubber hoses (I think 3) that are left.

The other hose, near the radiator at the bend in the intake pipe, does it go to the valve cover? If so, you don't need a hose going to the valve cover, you can just pick up a nifty little filter at your local auto parts store that looks like a mini version of your intake cone filter that fits right there. (Someone correct me if Im wrong, but isn't it called the crankcase breather?)

Where is the oil leak coming from, and be more specific with the whizzing noise. The whizzing is probably the timing chain guide. There is a good sticky in one of the forums that shows how to take the guide off and clean your tensioner.

no that hose isnt going to the valve cover. there are 3 hoses on the top and those are all takin care of but another one goes below the intake towards the radiator and i think it goes into the radiator. The whizzing noise is actually more sensitive when i move the steering wheel. But also dont i need the aiv? is it not important? what exactly does it do?thanks alot i still need help tho...

Whizzing = you are low on powersteering fluid or your pump is going out.

AIV is not needed, it injects air into the catalytic converter to heat it up faster.

How big is the hose you are talking about.

its about 2 inches thick and it plugs into the underside of the intake. it looks like it goes to the radiator any clue?
