SO im debating on 2 things

1. AEM Short-ram

2. Weapon-R MAF meter filter kit

Can anyone give me a NON-BIASED reason as to why I should get the AEM short ram and pay for a pipe that I already have, just made from another material?

Basically I dont see the reason to buy a full short-ram when the factory upper piece (plastic pipe from airbox-throttle body) works fine.

Anyone?

I really think that most intakes are the same, a difference in 2-3hp at most. Injen CAI (with extension) is what I got, I'd say get that..

going by your logic, since you shouldnt replace what you already have, why replace anything on your car? including the pipe OR filter, or exhaust, blah blah. Aftermarket stuff is usually designed with power in mind, not overall goodness. The stock stuff is designed to be quiet, but work. Heres the reason why you should replace the pipe: The stock one has a smaller internal diameter, thus it cannot flow as much air as easily, it is ribbed( creates turbulence, and is not smooth-flowing in general. Aftermarket pipes are larger diameter, smooth bends(smooth flow). Dont cheap out here.

BTW, the whole shebang does look nice and sound good. AEM or Injen will do.

i was jsut saying that the upper pipe is damn near identical to an metal one from AEM.....all other parts aside is what im looking for

reason i am thinkign of NOT puying the pipe is b/c im tryin to get as much stuff for the car as i can w/o having to get rid of it once the SR is dropped in next spring.....so a filter i assume would work on both MAFS thus the reason i questioned

you can relocate your battery to the trunk, or drivers side, and find a piece of aluminum with a 45 degree bend, and buy one of the adapters off ebay for a filter, and hook your intake up on the passenger side... then it only has to travel like a foot, instead of three, and look cleaner.

very good point, but it seems like hes concerned about money, and that costs money too. but yeah, just dont keep the stock pipe drifter, if you want maximum gains and throttle response.
