I'm currently working on two RB's and puttng intkake manifolds on both. Once car is my 240 (*RHD) and the other is a R32 skyline with RB25. Skyline has the greddy, where I have custom style. Anyways it's time for throttle cables on both, and stockers no longer reach. Any suggestions on which one to use. Looks like there only needs to be about 8-12" max to make the connection to the new TB location. Approx how long is a stock 240sx cable? Called nissan and they don't have specs like that, not to mention a new cable is $100 special order only. Same with Z32 cable. What did everyone else do to get the added length?

not to sure on how long the stock is, but id imagine it works. since it has to cross over being LHD.

have you tried some place cheaper like bap or auto for a replacement usdm throttle cable?

Didn't try BAP, because we don't have an account with them here at work. CSK doesn't carry throttle cables. I figured it would be a dealer item, or junkyard time. I'm going to place an ad for them locally. Thanks for the tip on the dohc -> sohc cable

Here's my 20... nothing really hooked up yet

simple solution...use a sohc cable.what i do is get throttle cable stops and 1/16 wire rope and make a whole new cable, allows for use of the tensioner for fine adjustments and generaly looks better.

yeah thats what i was thinking. they make ferrules to lengthen you throttle cable, or repair it if the end has broken off.

My SOHC cable doesnt fit quite right... I think I just have to fab up the bracket to extend the mount point, but I haven't done it.

IF you are interested, Pegasus Racing out of New Berlin, WI makes custom length throttle cables for race cars. Its a relatively small (I believe one shop) outfit, but they are local to my hometown and have been VERY VERY helpful in setting up whatever I needed for race cars in the past. Should be about 50-75 IIRC.
