Has anyone taken the intake manifold out while the motor is still in the car? I've already pulled most of the stuff out of the way, but it doesn't seem like it is going to come loose. Is it even possible to remove it with the motor still in the car? Thanks

Yes it's possible. There are 3 support structures on the bottom of the intake manifold. Undo those bolts. There are numerous small water hoses that connect into the bottom also. These will be a pain to get off, but it's possible. The wiring is going to suck to get out, but don't try to get all sassy and pull everything out, there'll be some wires that'll be stuck on the intake manifold and impossible to take off while the manifold is on the engine so don't worry about it. The fuel lines are easy to take off, just that front corner of the intake manifold. Hardest parts if I remember properly was the wiring and the water hoses. Be sure to have a set of needle nose pliers for those clamps. Good luck.

EDIT: I just woke up and assumed it was an SR. LOL sorry. But...I figure the DOHC is about the same in terms of pain in the arse.

Thanks for the help, its a KA, kinda similar, but I dont think there are any water hoses underneath, just one big one on the side. Is the plenum supported by anything other than the manifold?
