intake manifold stay

Wow, I had never tried removing the intake manifold before with the engine still in the car. (SOHC)I can't seem to find a way to remove the last bolt from the manifold stay!

I can barely see it when I peek through there, but there's no way in hell to fit a socket. You would have to use a combination wrench, and I still can't fit one of them.

Does anyone have any tips on removing the intake manifold w/o removing the stay? Or if not, how the hell do you reach that bolt? I really don't want to have to pull the engine just to remove the manifold.:rolleyes

Sounds like its time for a custom tool :) Thats about the only thing I havent had the privledge of removing YET.

I will say my friend has a custom wrench (cut and welded at a new angle) he made for one bolt / nut for the turbo on the z32tt :)

long 1/4 inch ext. with a wobbly craftsman 12mm socket.
