Hey guys i have a problem and I hope someone can help. I recently purched a 93 240sx. The owner told me one of the injectors was bad and threw in a new(used) fuel rail. After removing the fuel rail i had a hard time getting the injectors to seal. After awhile of installing and unstalling the bolts for the fuel rail started to strip. i have another Ka a friend of mine is rebuilding so i had him take the top part of the intake manifold off and gave it to me. Well, i have all the bolts lose on the top and lower half of the manifold. The lower half i removed the two bolts behide the oil filter and the one on the alternator. The lower half still wont drop i still have the oil filter on i donno if it needs to come off or not along with the bracket that i removed the two screws from. I was hoping someone could tell me what it is i'm doing wrong????

 This thing is destroying my world as well. I spun a bearing, developed some fantastic rod knock, and decided to swap in a new ka24de for my 91. (I'm planning on rebuilding the 91 for turboi applications) But anyway, since I want to pull the engine, I need to disconnect all of the wiring harness points associated with the engine, unfortunatly, it looks to me that there are a few hidden beneth that intake manifold. I've been at that manifold for a few days now, and I still cant get the fugger off. Decided to work on dropping the transmission for now to cool off.

Oh yeah, anyone got an engine hoist I could borrow?-Lech

Use a 1/4 12mm long extension wobble socket

Its easier to remove both lower brackets (intake and body side)Dont even think to try removing the hidden bolts from the underside.Removing the EGR valve (3 bolts) will helpIts really easier that you think, just time consuming.Email me for more details or help!!

i just removed the intake mani from a motor that was not in a car, and it was taking me forever to figure out how to get at the hidden bolds. my advice: remove the lower section from the upper section first. then the bolts are no longer hidden.sorry no pics

You guys are weak...lol....I have taking my intake mani off down to about a half hour. Unbolt the brackets that brace the lower half to the block first. Unbolt the egr, then remove the bolts that hold it to the head....some of the lower bolts take some work, but nothing a couple of extensions and swivel sockets can't take care of.

Then again I have removed tons of stuff..including alot of the harness, egr ****, ect...so it does make it easier...practice makes perfect...

tech 12, could you measure the width and height of the intake ports for me while you're at it? (in mm if possible)
