So here's an update since I've done the work and driven the car quite a bit.

I've noticed that the operation of the swirl valves has become much more obvious. When driving on the highway, I can really feel the swirl valves open around the 3,400 RPM mark, it's really like a kick in the butt. At first I was like WTF, but after a while I realized that the swirl valves were just opening and providing more power. It's kinda weird when trying to pass people on the highway, at first you don't think you have enough power but once it downshifts and you go above the 3,400 RPM mark the car really takes off. Other than that, the oil catch can is working beautifully and collecting quite a bit of oil (especially after some lead foot highway driving). I'll post the amount of oil in the catch can when I go to drain it.

Bit of a bump, but I read this thread on BITOG about a pretty cheap catch can. Would this work well enough, or would something bigger work better? All I'd need to do is route the PCV hose to one end of the catch can, and install another hose to lead to the original end of the hose, correct?

Anything like that or what I have will work, as long as it directs the blow-by gasses into the bottom of the canister. Even though the product you mentioned comes with some sort of metal screen element, I'm not sure if that will be sufficient for condensing the oil for better collection. One end of the canister will come from the passenger side rocker cover and the other side will go to the bottom of the lower intake collector. Just make sure to use PCV hosing, it's very stiff and it won't collapse under negative pressure.
