hello! what do u guys know about enlarging the intake manifold "holes" that lead to the cylinders? would it be ok to grab a drill and bore it out myself?

You should take a bit more of an educated approach than just "drilling it out". What you are wanting to accomplish is called porting, and should be done properly for good results. There is very much information on the basic processes of porting available all over the net. Now when you are dealing with your intake manifold, much care should be taken to insure you dont mess it up. Really, the ka engine flows much better on the intake side than the exhaust, so you should work on this first.

Increasing the overal diameter of the intake passages, you are decreasing velocity. The only porting i would do to it would be to port match it to the head and throttle body. The best method of porting the interior of the manifold is a process known as "extrude honing".

Research the topic of porting or porting/polishing you will find massive amounts of info

look into extrude hone. Its the best way to port a manifold correctly. Has been proven and works great.

Waste of time, don't bother. A fellow list member tried this by DPR and it didn't do anything on the dyno.

extrude hone works best on cylinder heads. i really wouldn't waste the money and time on the intake manifold.

what about for forced incucted KA?? I would think youd get some more numbers by enlarging the diameter of the intake, that and also get rid of those pesky butterfly valves if youd like. just saying it might be usefull for someone else.
