has anyone ever thought about taking the ebay greddy style SR20 intake manifolds, hacking off the flange and welding the flange for the CA18DET? the runners should be a pretty close match

I've mentioned this before on another board and the conversation usually drifts toward welding poor quality potmetal or whatever casting metal they use. I think by the time you find a donor OEM CA intake runner....buy and ship the freddy from asia.....then pay someone to cut and weld it to the freddy......you're over half way to a CPC manifold...especially since the AUS dollar is weak right now. I think by the time most CA owners get $400 in their hands it gets spent on something more useful....like cams or a used upgrade turbo.
