for all of those who put on any sort of air intake, did you have have to modify the ecu to adjust the fuel to air ratio to make up for the extra boost of air?ive been hearing that an intake may actually hurt the cars performance if the fuel to air isnt tuned. a little help and input..

some have some haven't, i'm sure. For the most part though, the motor will experience an increased influx of air, yes, but enough to reset the ecu, probably not. Plus, for such a minor mod, the ecu should recalibrate itself accordingly over a short period of time.

The MAF sensor on the intake reads the amount of air that passes through the intake. It sends a message to the ECU and the ECU should make the proper adjustments so you dont run lean.

Even without an aftermarket intake the ECU will adjust to different air flows with the temperature outside. Colder air is denser, which means more air will enter the engine.

All i did on my coupe was install my intake and start driving. Its just plug and play. No negative effects on performance. I went with Injen for my intake and i love the sound.

sounds good, initially i was gonna go for the injen or k&n but neither makes short rams for the altima '02, only sells the cai package where you need to convert. i find that a waste of money to buy a cai package only to make a short ram out of it, plus dont want the cold air due to hassle of hydrolock. Only competent short ram available for my car seemed to be the weapon R.

what do you think?

yeah i forgot you had an 02'...lol umm i cant say anything about the Weapon R cause i havent heard much about it... by the looks of it tho it almost looks like a third-party knock off IMO. But it serves the same purpose as all the others.

From what i can see in the pics of it online, the intake pipe seems pretty small. Wouldnt get much from it, if anything, (ie. noise, throttle response, HP) unless the stock is a straw...lol
