Lol, theres no such thing as a cold air short ram intake. They are two different kinds. The Fujita you mentioned is a short ram intake. Cold air intakes have longer piping, and a filter mounted outside of the engine area.

well unlike any of the others that posted i will answer your original question.

most likely the car is "vibrating" or most likely resonating. you see if you look at the stock airbox as well as the stock CAI which connects to the grill from the airbox you will see two seperate resonators (one on the airbox, one on the intake. the one on the intake is quite large) which are very effective at reducing the sound and vibration the intake makes.

I removed the intake from my car (not the airbox) to see if i could fashion an intake pipe that was more direct. and upon driving it just with the airbox and no intake i noticed a big difference in sound and vibrations. so that is most likely what is causing this. no worries. if you wanna fix it... reinstall the stock intake. im sure you dont want to do that. so i guess just get used to it.

another option would be to fashion a type of housing around the filter with a hole in it. attatch a pipe to the hole and connect this to the stock intake which can be mounted back into the stock location. This should give you an effective CAI as well as reduce some of the resonating.

Use this as a reference if you dont know what im talking about:zer...-sale

hope that helps.
