I'm just wondering, what's the best intake for the 2.5? and is it even really useful for the 2.5?

Take your pick...the design is practically identical for all of them (with the exception of the K&N that has a supposedly functional airbox but costs waaaaaay too much...). The more important factor is the filter you've got on the end of the thing.

As for power gains...well, according to my butt-dyno it helps a bit. The sound it makes is what's truly impressive though and is worth every penny IMHO!

I don't think there's really a 'best' intake for the 2.5 it's just your personal opinion. I'm pretty sure the top ones out right now are AEM, Injen and K&N. There's no real noticable power gains or anything.

I dont have any intake on my 2.5 yet because I was waiting for the K&N to come out. In my opinion they make the best filter and intake products.

It just came out and of course I dont have the funds right now, but that is the one I will be buying as soon as I get some spare coin.

For most of them, I see install instructions for sedan but not coupe. Is it identical between the two cars?

Yup.

My advice is to get the one that best fits your budget. IMHO, the extra $150 for K&N's air diverter really isn't worth it, especially since the gains from that piece alone probably total 0.5HP.

If you look at the designs for WAIs for our cars, they are all pretty much the same. There's only so much innovative design that can do into a single pipe with one small bend in it. It's up to you how much you want to pay for it. That's my $0.02...

It's like $321 I think on the K&N website.
