What year Q are you talking about? I'm also a bit confused about the gasket we're talking about... a picture would help.

Thanks!

If there is in fact a gasket on it, (if it's metal to metal there should be) and it breaks, just use some liquid gasket in it's place :)

Ahh - TCS. Yeah, I'm guessing there's a gasket there. I would use the correct gasket, rather than smearing RTV on there... it can't cost that much, and getting the correct seal without making a mess would be worth it.

I keep some black toyota sealant (they use it to seal cam bearings and a few other things) around for the "stock" look... just don't use too much. Then again I'm not really picky... it's just easier than looking up a gasket and buying it

Use a new OEM Gasket or reuse the old one if it is in good shape. The gasket is not more than $10.

I used some normal black RTV on mine, thin layer so it didnt look like s***. No problems from it.
