Hey guys well yesterday I removed the stock air box off my 95 zenki and put in an intake cone. Well I didnt buy the MAF adapter piece so i rigged the MAF end to fit the cone. I noticed the MAF censor has 2 connectors comming out of it and one went to the air box. But now it just hangs loose. The problem is that now that the connector hangs loose I got the check engine light. Any thoughts or help? Thanks.

Intake air temp sensor is the connection you left unplugged. Your car needs this.Get it off the air box, drill a hole in the filter somewhere and plug the hole with the sensor. Make sure the sensor goes in the air path BEFORE the MAF sensor.

Oh yeah, search newb!

the correct response would have been "you're welcome, Nate"

lol.

Anyhow that sensor doesn't need to be in the actual intake piping. It is the best idea, but it's also possible to just ziptie the sensor near the air filter. All it does is measure temperature afterall.. (I did this on one of my cars years ago and it was fine)

So I shouldnt worry about the check engine light then? Because it came on after I removed the plug and ran it for a little while.

Oh and thanks to who ever moved it to the tech section.

the check engine light should turn off when you plug the sensor back in.

Well actually you can check what the code is and then it will clear automatically. http://www.240sx.org/faq/index.htmlLook under ECM, reading trouble codes DOHC. That will tell you how to check the codes and what they mean.
