I just did the OBX cone filter adapter and an APC cone filter. After studying it for a while, I decided to remove the AIV. If you want to keep it, then just get a little breather filter and stick it on the hose that runs from the old intake box to the AIV valve. I dunno about your setup, but on a SOHC it just draws filtered, unmetered air from the filterbox and lets it into the exhaust to help light off the cat. I dunno the details for your setup. The only way it should affect the engine running is if the vacuum lines that control the AIV valve are not hooked up or plugged off. My question is what to do with the air inlet temp. sensor- I have asked at least three times on this board and only one person had a good reply and said to add a short section of duct in between the filter adapter and the filter and drill and install the sensor in it- I haven't done it yet because the tip of the cone filter is already about to be rubbing on the fender well- there isn't much space there to do that. To be honest, I had a K&N filtercharger in the stock airbox before I did the cone- I swear it had more power with that setup. The cone does let a nice intake sound out though.
