So i swapped in an exhasut cam from another CA into my intake side, and wow the difference in response, spool, and torque, along with a sexy idle.

It is definetly worth the 20bucks i spent on it, i also advanced the intake cam gear one notch, she runs amazing with that, 444's and acometic with arp's.

Where did it seem to make/loose power/torque at? Did you notice exactly how much faster the turbo spools? I'm not questioning you, just want more info. I know I've heard the guys as sxoc talk about this, just haven't heard much else about it.

Type - LashCam Duration(IN) - 240° Cam Duration(EX) - 248° Cam lift IN(mm) - 7.80Cam lift EX(mm) - 8.50Lobe center angle (IN) - 120° Lobe center angle (EX) - 120°

I pulled this from the "Engine Facts" that is stickied. I thought I read on here (or somewhere) awhile ago that it "absolutely does nothing".

as you can see its 8* more duration. i can tell you from experience it helps torque in the low end, i can tell this because i have a 50 trim turbo which has some lag, sometimes just enough to not get you the power to do a quick slide or something to that nature, when i drove it, it made power down low quicker, and it was like a whole new powerband once the intake butterfly opened, it felt great and opened a little later, which i like so you keep power through out the band. for 20bucks and a little time at a junk yard, its well worth it.

In your experience... what actually helps the most?

the duration/lift, or centrelobe timing change?

No, you set the new intake came one tooth off in the clockwise direction. This advances the cam about 10° IIRC which puts peak lift pretty close to stock.

Did you swap another CA18DET Exhaust camshaft in for your stock intake camshaft?

one cm tooth advance puts it at 110* which makes it open at 15 btdc and close at 53 abdc. this is like running the eur ca16det cams lots more overlap.. i plzan on running this also..

if at stock settings should be 125* max lift make it open at 1* atdc and close at 67* abdc. less overlap than stock probably not the best settings but its .5* retard from factory which is open at 0*tdc.
