Hey guys, Ive been searching around the site for almost a month now and have decided I might as well register and start asking some questions. Ive bought a 90' 240sx and am in the process of installing an RB25DET with 67km on it. Its been going pretty good so far but now i have some questions. Wondering what you guys have been doing for intakes that will bolt up to the RB MAF and where you guys get your downpipes (and a bunch of other parts) from. Im thinking top hat, thats where i bought my mounting kit and wiring from, but if theres another route im interested.

Thanks alot guys,

Kevin

Yes, you need a metal adapter to fit a cone filter onto the RB MAF. You can buy one from ebay for a 300zx and it will work or you can make your own like I did from sheet metal. It looks kind of rough but no one will ever see it so I don't mind. As for the downpipe, I just took the car to a custom muffler shop in the area and asked them to fabricate a 3in downpipe. I think I paid like $125 for it but I went with a longer pipe that also eliminated the cat.

Yah, ive got a good muffler guy up here and I was planning on doing that anyways, just wondering what the RB crowd was doing. Do you know if any of the SR20 apexi intakes fit the MAF?

SR20... no. Like he said, 300ZX fits. It's the Apexi Supra/300ZX kit, and it fit's perfectly. The only problem with it is that it's not exactly replaceable or cleanable like the K&Ns, but it does supposedly outflow them just a tad.

Downpipes aren't that complex. Just go to the local muffler shop.

A friend of mine helped me fab up a 3" downpipe. I split it into 2 parts before the cat so i had a sort of test pipe that i mounted my electic cutout into. If you plan on making one or having someone make you one, you will need a RB 6 bolt flange for the turbo outlet. We had one water jetted and it fit perfect. My friend still has the CAD on his computer so if you are in need of one drop me an email.
