My intake air temperature sensor wires broke off from time and being brittle while working on the car. The wires broke off right where they connect to the sensor so there was no chance of fixing it, not enough to solder.
Anyway, I figured the car would not run well at all without it kind of like having a bad MAF... So I started it up, drove to the parts store and back and have to say I'm amazed. The car runs better, idles better, accelerates smoother... All without the sensor. I'm going to replace it when I find someone doing a part out on a s14 with a ka24de.
I'm guessing that mine was no good, that is probably why it is running better without it. The wires had been bad for some time, but still connected barely. Logic tells me that since the ECU can't read the intake air temp. the ecu will compensate with fuel some how. My question is will it make it run rich? Will I do damage running it without?
Thanks
