I work in the insurance industry, and I highly recommend dealing with an independent insurance agent (one who sells products from many, not just one company). If the agency is a good one, they'll find the most appropriate coverage for you at the best price available. If you don't like the price you get, you can always try one of the direct writers, like Geico.
Larger agencies write with many different companies, and there could very well be significant differences in premium from one company to another. Of course, the coverage may be a bit more broad with some of the more expensive companies. You're agent should be able to help you decide what you actually need.
Lastly, it's nice to have someone act as a "buffer" between yourself and the insurance company. Insurance can be confusing, and the agent should be able to translate all that insurance stuff in to english for you.
Oh, and the 240SX isn't exactly cheap to insure.
