Insurance rates?

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I'm presuming there is no such thing as a stupid question, so, here goes:

What exactly do Insurers classify the Sentra SE-R as? I've been wondering if insurers try to nickel and dime you even more since it's a sporty car. Any help is appreciated. I'm ready for anything.

-BUMP- Anyone? Sorry if I sound pushy. I just need to know what the general populace is being charged so that I can compile a report for my dad citing the positives of Sentra SE-Rs.

it depends on how old you are, your current driving record (accidents) if you qualify for multicar discount etc.

the SE-R is a higher risk because of its sporty type class so you will pay more than if you bought say, a Civic LX. before i turned 25 i was getting charged through the nose cause i had an accident with my last car (ice) and it didnt help that i got hit twice by idiots on the road with my spec.

its gonna be a tough sell for a parent to buy their kid an SE-R

it guzzles gas for a 4 bangerdepending on the year it has potentially fatal engine issuesif its used chances are its been beat on

good luck

I had a '96 200sx SE-R, and it was quite a bit more than a standard Sentra of the same year. It was a 2-door, though so that didn't help. General rule of thumb seems to be that if it says "Sport", "R/S", "Type-R or S", "Limited", etc, it will be more than the lesser model beause it's deemed a "sporty" model, usually with bigger engines, mor eluxury, etc. Just be prepared for it.
