I'm not dropping it (yet)..other than putting the 245/50/17's on the factory rims which dropped it about 1/2"

There is no difference in height between a 225/55/17 and a 245/50/17. So your car didn't drop.

Based on the tire calculator in the FAQ it did....But I havent measured anything to verify it.

I'm not trying to be rude (just got into an argument so I might not be as polite as usual).

The sidewall height of the stock 225/55/17 is 123.75mm the height of a 245/50/17 is 122.5mm. Considering both of those, when you add them to the static height of 8.5" (radius of your 17" rim) the difference is still 1.25mm which equates to 4/100".

Maybe you misunderstood the tire calculator's readings? I can't pull it up because I don't have admin rights on the current comp to add JAVA.

ya tire size didnt drop your car.for the bumper if it was my car i wouldnt get a different one for you id say go for it just cuz i wouldnt have the cvbcbbcbvc to do it.
