Well, I am a partial perfectionist when it comes to certain things, and I dont think my car blows out air cold enough..... Our suburban (albiet brand new) will FREEZE you..... And I am going to assume that nothing has been done.... I am all part of the extremes... and when I get into the hot Q (my Q gets hotter inside than any other car ive been in, including our black on black 02 GTP), I want this baby to just FREEZE me..... It takes about 1-2mins for it to start getting cold, and then a few more for it to start cooling things down......

Would the most common area of fixing be the drier.....? I am going to have quite a few things done when I get my shocks replaced next month, so I can have them check it then....

That's the first place I'd start. Have the system chemical flushed, then replace the drier, and recharge. Do a dye check for leaks first! That might explain it all.

Dunno about Joe, but Plaza Infiniti wants $160, Bommarito Infiniti said $140, Midas quoted $120, and in Spokane WA it was $60 at NAPA.

Nissan feels that 46-50F center outlet temperature is cold enough whereas some US manufacturers design colder 44-48F.

Pretty difficult for a 10 year old system to perform as new without all new parts and halfway fixes may do nothing.

If 46-50 is good enough, then I guess thats all I can ask......

It does seem like it takes a while to cool down...... What would cause it to not cool fast enough (it takes about 45seconds for it to get cold, driving (not idle).........

From sitting in the sun to 46-50F may take 10-15 minutes [at 60 mph] depending on color and local solar radiation to reach equalibrium.

It starts out around 125F [105-140F]...............wow only 45 seconds to feel cool mine takes 2-3 minutes to produce 80F but it takes me 5 minutes [2 spot signs and 2 red lights to get on the expressway].

There is only so much cooling that 30,000 BTU/hr [500 BTU/min] can create. the compressor rpm [pullet ratio] is set for 2,000 engine rpm] to increase compressor life.

Many domestics who don't care about 200,000 mile life use a differing ratio so the cooling comes earlier.[but not much say 10-25%]........kind of a function of 36k vs 60k warranty.

Pretty much all AC systems are created [designed equal] for equal interior volume cars.

With R134a system the pressure errors are more critical [vs R12] a 10% over or undercharge [2/10ths of a pound] will show up as a 7-10% too high center vent temperature [3.5-5F] when coupled with dirty fins on evap or condenser.
