Instrument needle? Help PLEASE

How do you get the tach needle off a digtal Hud in an 89 240sx? Already broke 2 trying, any advice will be helpful.

Why would you want to do that?

Because I got overlays that go over the tach but it is impossible to put it on otherwize.

Are you talking about indiglo gauges? If you are, you can slide it on, it's a little tricky but you can. To warn you, if you manage to take off the tach needle, it will never again be accurate, I know, I've done this before, only way to solve the inaccurate tach is replace it. If you are talking about those lights that is to be placed behind the needle, then yeah, you have to remove the needle but like I said before, it will not operate properly anymore.
