Usually the background surrounding my speedo/tach, etc. is completely black. Occasionally the background is gray. Do I have an intermittent lamp failure causing this?

Also, I recently replaced my clock which was not working. I took out thr a/c control head (which has a non-working display) and I was able to twist the board to make the display work again. Does any one have info on which solder joints usually fail so I can re-solder them?

There is a great HVAC thread that you can get by searching HVAC display, but the photo has been removed. Perhaps a moderator can repost it.

As far as the cluster backlighting - yes it's an intermittant bulb. Not sure which one or how much they cost. Might call Joe at Infiniti of Scottsdale to find out.
