Will a instrument cluster from a s13 coupe work on an s13 hatch? Because I found one in a junkyard that looked almost brand new with only 140,000 miles on it and I tried taking my cluster out but didn't want to crack the plastic cover piece covering it and was wondering if the was an easy way to get that piece off? Thanks

You ARE trying to swap the entire cluster, not just the odometer or something crazy? You don't remove the clear plastic to swap them. thats why I ask.

yEs the whole cluster not just the odometer and not the clear plastic piece there is a black plastic piece infeont of the screws hiding everything and it is reallly hard to get it off.... The steering column is in the way I just wanted to know if the coupes digital cluster will work with the hatches setup

Yes, the coupe odometers will work in a hatch. I saw you said digital...? then you are also going to need the cluster sub harness as well, if it is a Digital display. If you are speaking of the Normal or analog display then you need nothing just the cluster itself.

In order to get that piece off, You have to go down below in the foot well of the driver side and take the plastic and metal covers off. then remove the two nuts holding the steering column up.The steering column will drop down about an inch, then you will have enough room to remove the black plastic bezel from around the cluster.

nope no cutting or soldering, the subharness will just disconnect from that coupe and plug right into the harness of the hatch. be careful though in most cases the digital speedo's are have gone bad and usually dont work. Its rare to come across a working one just sitting in a junk yard.
