I hope someone can help. My instrument cluster intermittently stops working and then after you shut it down for a while it works..

What year & model do you have?

My 02 Xterra did that when new. It turned out to be a loose connection in the fuse block the separated when hot.

I have the same problem. My truck is a 1998 Nissan Frontier XE 2WD with 85,000 miles on it. With such low mileage I can't imagine the gauge cluster is messed up. What mine actually does is all the arrows do wierd things, like the temperagure and fuel gauge just float all the way to the top, and the tach/speedo just sort of bobble around the 8 o'clock position, regardless of my speed. Please help!

Here's the answer you seek. Sounds like the instrument cluster has packed it in folks, but run through this diagnostic procedure to be sure!
