Hey all, through some research on the forum I have discovered the backlighting (that subsequently went out) for my '01 Qx4's instrument cluster gauges (fuel meter, speedo, tacho, and temp) are illuminated by a fluorescent light tube. Does anyone know if it's possible to simply replace this light tube to achieve illumination again or if replacing the entire gauge cluster is necessary?

Also, along those lines, by replacing the gauge cluster itself will the mileage revert back or will the odometer read whatever mileage is on the replacement gauge cluster? I will check when I'm home from work tonight if it is indeed the fluorescent light tube. Thanks to Pwnin O'brien for that awesome write-up on how to remove the gauge cluster. If anyone has any information that could remotely help me I'd greatly appreciate it; trying to avoid the stealership at all costs. Thanks!

Checked the fuses yesterday and everything seemed to be in order although I will double check again this evening. Wasn't really sure which fuse relates to the gauge cluster illumination so I checked all of them; factory service manual listed either 7.5A or 10A. Can anyone confirm this?

And no, the dimmer switch is not all the way turned down. I wish that was the case as it would make for a tremendously easy and simple fix; just a bit of a bruised ego that's all lol.
