Have anyone noticed that the backlighting for the speedo/ RPM is kinda dimmed compared to other cars? Even when the brightness dial is turned to max, it's still pretty dimly lit.

Compared to my wife's altima, which is super bright. Any thoughts as this is normal or have some of my LEDs or something are burnt out?

Thanks

I actually think my orange LED's are quite bright and very visible.

Since I can only adjust the brightness when in head-light mode only, I actually adjust it to the dimness setting personally.

I believe Igg is referring to the Speedometer and the Tachometer specifically. I also have a 2009 Rogue. While all the instrument lighting is orange as you indicated (and I can make the orange lighting of the computer display so bright its almost uncomfortable to look at)... the speedometer and tachometer actually have "white" illumination and they don't have the same intensity at full brightness as the orange lighting.

However like you I also dim the instrument lights as low as I can get them while still being readable. (A technique I leaned many years ago in night flight training.) I don't like them bright. It saves my night vision and doesn't distract me from what's happening outside my car.

I agree - my 2006 Murano’s gauges were orange and light all the time, even when the headlights were off. It was easy to see the speedometer and tachometer in the daytime. Of course you could adjust the brightness so it wasn’t annoying.

I would like the Rogue’s speedo and tach to be light all the time as it’s difficult to see them on a sunny day wearing sunglasses.

Actually, the speedo/tach are always lit. When the headlights are OFF they go to MAX brightness. With the headlights ON, they switch to the dimmer setting as determined by the dimmer.

Try to switch your headlights on/off at night (while the car is parked and engine running) and you'll see what I mean.
