just curious if anyone has any pointers about installing the window visors from Nissan Japan... it came with clips, but dont really understand what they do... also, should i wait for it to be warm to put them on with the 3m adhesive? seeing how its winter it may be a while, i was thinking to use a blow dryer to heat it up, but i dunno... any advice would be awesome.

You can see places in the Visors where the clips go, they clip to the visor and to the metal door frame under the rubber seal you remove to install them.

I would wait for a atleast a little warmer day, or do it in a garage or something.

You don't actually remove any rubber seal to install the visors. They adhere to the door frame with the 3M tape. The clips clip to the the back end of the front visor and the front end of the back visor and are 3M'd to the door frame. They are just there to provide support to the two ends that meet in the middle of the car since those ends are less supported.

You must have differ visors. The ones from VersaSpeed clearly had instructions to remove the rubber, place the clips, and then put the rubber back. That is with using the adhesive to the outside.

I can take pics if needed.

I got mine from Nissan. There must be a difference between the Versaspeed ones and the Nissan ones. At least in the instructions anyway.

ive got a set from versaspeed too... installing was pretty strait forward... the only differance is you dont have to remove the rubber seal just pull out out slightly to install clips... i hope you cleaned the surface with alcohol prior to sticking the tape to the door...

well i did get them installed. i cleaned around it, but NOT with alcohol... i have a spray bottle i keep with a couple drops of dish soap in it, incase i spill anything inside... so i cleaned around it with those... my stepdad helped, we lined them up and got the tape on, then he put the clips on, and i ran a hairdryer over it to make sure the adhesive stuck since it was cold..

a few light tugs, and they weren't going anywhere...ill get some pics in a while... if i ever get her clean... next project consists of paint... black headlights, nightshaded tails, and redoing my grill for the THIRD time, seeing how it keeps getting chips, but i think its cause i havent clear coated it... thanks for all the help guys... and thanks bob for FINALLY getting them in stock =]]

I have been thinking about getting these, my only concern is if this thing cracks or needs to come off. Is it possible to remove them or does the 3m tape ruin the paint? I think some goo gone might work but after a couple of years I think the paint may be damaged. Maybe I'm thinking too much!

Get the ones from WEATHERTECH. They slide into the window channel, use no tape, can be removed without damage and are extremely high quality. I have them on our Versa and Sentra.

Thanks for posting the pic! Looks really good. I thought $100 USD was a little high but may be worth it.

Were these hard to install? I watched the installation video from the website, but I don't understand how they stay in the door. Will they affect tinted windows?

i agree with you, that is the only reason i do not like that particular set is the fact that they do not cover the small back window. i might end up buying a different set, i want the ones that cover all the windows. i have tinted windows but i still want it to cover the entire door.

Installation is super easy. Takes just a minute to slip the visor into the window channel. No problem whatsoever. Just follow the simple instructions.

The windows on our Versa are tinted, and the visors have no effect on the tint, as it is on the inside of the glass.
