I have decided to install an Autometer water temp sensor as I just don't trust the stock cluster one and would like to get a more accurate reading. I believe the unit comes with a 1/8 NPT fitting which will not screw into any coolant location on our vehicles. Anyone who has installed this gauge please outline the procedure for me.

The only suggestion I can give is...drill a hole and tap it. Seal it and plug it in. Other than that good luck.

My current idea is to drill in a small hole in the top water neck, and weld on a 1/8 NPT bung. Anyone got any better ideas??
