I ripped apart my engine to do a few things. I have installed the lower timeing chain and cover plate already. Yestarday I installed the headgasket, studs and put on the head. Tonight I am going to install the cams and put on the upper timeing chain. Here is where I have a question. It goes from the center gear that conncets to the lower chain and the distirbutor, striaght to the cam sprockets. How to I get it on? Do I have to install my cams, then take off the cam gear. Slip the chain on, set the timeing and bolt the cam gears back on? That is my guess but other wise I am unsure. any help is apreciated. Thanks.

PS, I did search so please dont tell me too.

Center gear , is not that hard install cams with out gears on it put chain on center gear (MAKE SURE THE WASHER IS ON THE CORRECT WAY ITS BEVELED LIKE 1 MM TO NOT RUB ) i had it happen and stripped out the head bolt for the center sprocket . Not something you want to do . Then put your intake sprocket on with the chain already attached .Make sure your timing is set right . A new chain will cause you to move the cams a little, that is ok . Then do the same with the exhaust side . i did the whole timing on mine in like 12 hours . Its not as hard as people say .Try to use lock tight on your bolts also .Hope this helps .And this is for a ka24de .
