This is an extremely simple procedure. Each outer TRE has a jamb nut on the rack(threaded body) side. Release tension on the jamb nut.

On steering knuckle side, remove cotter pin, loosen then remove the groove nut. If TRE ball socket doesn't easily slide out, grab small version of BFH and give the cast iron knuckle a tap.

With the TRE free of the cast steering knuckle, now you can thread off the TRE from the rack. Count how many turns as you go, so the new TRE can be threaded on to the same distance.

Install new TRE onto the threaded inner rack socket, threading it on with the same amount of turns as the TRE you removed.

Install TRE into the cast iron steering knuckle, tighten groove nut to (per FSM spec) 22-29ft-lb. then tighten further to align nut groove with first pin hole so that cotter pin can be installed. CAUTION Tightening torque must not exceed 36ft-lb.

Tighten jamb nut on the inner tie rod to 27-34ft-lb.

there will be a lock washer that holds the inner tie rod in, just bend the edges out, youll see what i mean when your doing it. after that it just screws out. if your going to use the spacer with the tein rods, i beleive you dont use the lock washer again (check instr) remember to use some threadlocker on the threads.

put the castle nut back on the bolt and wack the crap out of it. the nut should protect the threads if you want to reuse the rod end.

thread it all the way in though, or you'll have a busted nut and bolt. Or you could go to autozone and rent a ball joint remover.
