installing the starter

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

There are 2 bolts on the starter and the big fat black wire with the red rubber cap goes into one of them. How do you know which bolt the fat wire goes to? The bolts have 12mm nuts on them.

the 2 bolts are the same and they are symetrical on the starter. how do you tell which is the first?

I think you just mean the ground wire yes? if it just goes around the bolt to ground the thing It just needs to have good contact with the metal...

But if you wanna put it back were it was originaly you should be about to see a ring where it is cleaner around one of the bolt holes on the braket or old starter...

It honestly doesnt matter where you put it as long as where you put it is a clean, paint-free, gunk-free metal surface that grounds out.
